ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR As the longer days and warmer weather return, we traditionally see an increase in calls to police alongside a packed calendar of community events. Last month was no exception, and it was great to see so many residents enjoying local celebrations safely and responsibly. Our neighbourhood team was pleased to support organisers at a number of well-attended events, including Eid celebrations, Pub in the Park, and Frogfest in the town centre. We are happy to report that all events passed without incident, reflecting the positive spirit of our community. Responding to Anti-Social BehaviourDuring a recent day of action, officers responded to reports of suspected gang-related activity near Morrisons, involving youths wearing balaclavas and chasing members of the public. The group was quickly located and dispersed, with a Section 34 dispersal order put in place to prevent further disorder. In a separate incident in Cressex, two individuals were arrested following an attack on a youth whilst using a weapon. Thankfully, the victim did not sustain serious injuries. We have also addressed ongoing anti-social behaviour linked to a specific address in Rynn Close. A partial closure order has now been secured, and officers will continue regular checks to ensure compliance and protect local residents. Arrest and Investigation UpdatesWhile conducting speed enforcement operations, officers were diverted to Hughenden Park following reports of a man exposing himself. The individual was located and arrested. Due to recent legislative changes, it was not possible to remand him; however, strict bail conditions have been imposed, and the case remains under close monitoring. Supporting Vulnerable IndividualsWe continue to manage complex cases involving individuals with potential mental health concerns. One repeat case required intervention from specialist Mental Health Teams following escalation. Situations like this can be challenging, and we remain committed to working with partner agencies to provide the appropriate support wherever possible. Tackling Traffic and Parking ConcernsOne of the most frequent concerns raised by residents is inconsiderate and illegal parking. With increasing vehicle ownership, limited on-street parking, and more properties installing dropped kerbs, we understand the frustrations this causes and will continue to take action where appropriate. In partnership with Roads Policing colleagues, we carried out targeted operations against traffic-related anti-social behaviour. These efforts resulted in:
SPEEDING Speeding remains a priority for the team. Our goal is to shift public perception so that speeding is viewed as socially unacceptable—much like drink driving. We ask residents to play their part by challenging unsafe behaviour among friends and family. Community involvement is key to making lasting improvements in road safety. Summer often sees increased interest in schemes such as Community Speedwatch, which empower residents to take an active role in monitoring speeds in their neighbourhoods. Benefits of participating include: The Police and Crime Commissioner is currently offering free equipment to new groups. We are keen to establish more schemes this year. To find out more or to get involved, visit: www.communityspeedwatch.org Our team continues to monitor known speeding hotspots and will allocate enforcement resources accordingly, including the potential deployment of the Road Safety Van in higher-risk areas. Recent activity included speed checks at Plumer Hill, where 7 tickets were issued to drivers exceeding the limit. The area also benefits from a combination of fixed speed cameras and mobile enforcement units, which serve as both enforcement tools and visible deterrents. Recent figures show: These figures demonstrate the continued need for proactive enforcement as we work together to improve road safety. DRUGS The Wycombe West Neighbourhood Team continues to take proactive action to address drug related activity across the area. Our officers remain visible on patrol, carrying out targeted checks, engaging with young people, and responding to community concerns. A warrant was executed in Downley under the Misuse of Drugs Act and one person was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of drugs. Male has been released on bail. A proactive drugs operation took place over two days focusing on the West side of Wycombe. The Neighbourhood Team were supported by dog handlers and officers from the Town Centre. This resulted in 19 stop searches Five Penalty tickets for road related incidents Two people reported Seizure of an E-bike High‑visibility patrols remain a priority to deter offending and identify those involved in drug supply and possession.
Thank YouWe would like to thank residents for their continued support and cooperation. By working together, we can ensure our community remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone this summer. | ||
